Dorchester Drama April Workshops

CALLING ALL ACTORS!

There are a series of three workshops being led by Anne Reeve, Lee Stroud and Georgie Willis running on Wednesday11th, Wednesday 18th and Wednesday 25th at Sunninghill School based on “Working Together”. ALL ARE WELCOME, free for members, £1 for non-members; free refreshments. So if you want to come and have some drama fun come and join us.

We are rehearsing in the Music Room (room 4 on the plan)

If you are bringing a car come in the Culliford Road entrance and drive carefully round to the School. We can park in the area by room 10. Then coming through the gates and playground down to room 3 and just before turn right and you will find room 4. We will make sure that a few of us are outside to help new comers find their way!

Thursday 5 April Extrodinary General Meeting (EGM) at the Vic 7:30pm

In the remaining three weeks of April there will be a series of workshops designed to improve our drama skills and have some fun.  These will be open to current members and non-members alike and we will use it to see if we can find some new members too (evening and venue to be announced shortly)

Auditions for our summer production of Twelfth Night will take place in the week of 30th April (evening and venue to be announced)

Spring Production 2012 Play Read and Auditions

The play reading of our Spring Play “Dying for a Drink” directed by Vince Jones will take place on Thursday 5th January at the Victoria Hotel Maud Road Dorchester 7:30pm.  This is a murder mystery play and two course dinner.  We are hoping to put it on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 March (to be confirmed)

Auditions will take place on Monday 9th January at the Victoria Hotel, Maud Road, Dorchester 7:30pm.

Dorchester Drama Autumn Production

Dorchester Drama’s Autumn production will be “Alan Bennett’s Talking Heads”. Trevor Williams will be performing ‘A Chip in the Sugar’ directed by Anne Reeve; Lee Stroud will be doing ‘A Lady of Letters’ directed by Peter and Steve Twinn will also be performing a Talking Head; Jonny White, David and Anne Reeve and Trev will be performing some Alan Bennett smaller monolgue sketches, directed by David. Georgie Willis is overal producer. Alan Bennett is a wonderful writer and very popluar and the evening will be a great mix of poignant characterisation and witty satire.
We will be performing at the Corn Exchange, Dorchester Thursday 10th to Saturday 12th November 7:30pm start.  Tickets will be £8 in advance, available at Dorchester Unioted Church Bookshop, 51 Charles Street, Dorchester and by phone on 01305 257694 or £9 on the door.
