Social play readings

Fancy a bit of theatre without the terror of auditions? 🎭

This summer, Dorchester Drama are hosting a series of relaxed and sociable play reading evenings — a chance to meet members, have a laugh, experiment with characters and accents, and read through some brilliant plays that may end up on stage in the future… or might just give us all a good giggle.

We’re kicking off with the gloriously chaotic Farndale comedies — expect theatrical disasters, collapsing dignity, and plenty of fun.

These are absolutely not auditions — no pressure, no casting, no need to “perform properly”. Just come along, read a few parts, try out that questionable American or Scottish accent you’ve been saving up, and enjoy an evening of theatre and laughs in the pub.

Whether you’re a seasoned actor, curious newcomer, or someone who just enjoys dramatic overacting with a pint nearby, you’ll be very welcome,
